| Where
dancing is serious business This
month, be ready to be puzzled and bedazzled by Spectaculo, a magical musical experience
happening only at the dazzling - Club Mwah. In the tradition of hit Las Vegas
and Broadway musicals, Club Mwah will showcase world-class magicians and entertainers
all Fridays and Saturdays of August in a dinner show series.
Featuring
avant garde American and German magicians, spectacular tricks and illusions, will
be seen in a rare show at 7:30 pm. Gone are the days when magic was strictly David
Copperfield. Today, magic has carved its own niche in the entertainment scene
and has seeped into pop entertainment consciousness - and the latest mind-boggling
magic experience happens only at Club Mwah. After
dinner and Spectaculo, catch the Bohemian fever and travel back in time with bedazzled,
an hour of spectacular song and dance numbers and production revue sequences reminiscent
of those done at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, New York's Studio 54 and Paris'
Moulin Rouge. This is for the after-dinner habitues and weekend night owls. Tuesdays
and Thursdays at Club Mwah showcase Follies de Mwah!, a Vegas inspired show featuring
original Broadway numbers injected with a great deal of comic relief - a musical
kaleidoscope punctuated with witty vignettes. Also, expect to be amazed by very
talented "showgirls" whose costumes range from flashy Bohemian to classy
Versace-types. Club Mwah also
knows how to party with its disco nights with the '70s and '80s trip-down-memory-lane
kind of music. Yes, dancing is a serious business at Club Mwah. And I don't mean
you just have to sit and watch the showgirls dance. When
you hear the disco music from the 70's and the 80s and you see the blinking lights
underneath the psychedelic dance floor, the strobe lights bouncing off the mirror
balls, you will definitely hit the dance floor with your partner and show off
your terpsichorean skills. The audio-visual delight is not confined to the shows,
but to the dance floor as well. Since all equipment is computer-controlled,all
the lights blink to the ebat of the music. Club
Mwah owners Pocholo Malillin and Cris Nicolas also proudly point out that there
are dance platforms or ledges strategically located by the entrance, at the front
of the stage and on opposite walls where resident dancers as well as guests can
dance their hearts out all night long! Go
and visit Club Mwah - an Asia Pacific Excellence Awardee for Entertainment - located
at The Venue Tower along Boni Avenue near Mandaluyong City Hall. You deserve to
have fun in a place where there are no tapes and no investigation in aid of legislation.
There is also no impeachment process in progress. Just fun, fun, fun! For
inquiries and reservations, you may call 535-7943, 532-2826 or 631-6009.
