Follies de Mwah
Broadway, Las Vegas, and Moulin Rouge on Boni

Just a year after opening, Club Mwah on Boni Avenue Mandaluyong has been described across between New York Studio 54 and Las Vegas.

It has also earned a number of awards, including the Philippine Marketing Excellence Award for Bar Entertainment, and the Asia Pacific Award as Asia's Outstanding Entertainment and Theater Bar. This November, Club Mwah will also receive the Global Excellence Award for Theater and Bar Entertainment to be awarded in China. Club Mwah also plays host to a number of fund raising and charity events, like the recent EVA Foundation Fundraiser and Chairyt Event which will help the Aetas in Northern Luzon.

Pocholo Malillin, the man behind the success of Club Mwah, said he put up the club with co-proprietor Cris Nicolas just for the fun of it. So what makes Club Mwah a hit? For starters, there's the 70s and 80s trip-down-memory lane kind of music. Show girls perform excerpts from the various musicals injecting color, glamour, and extravagance - the very words to describe the Club Mwah shows.

For its first year anniversary, Club Mwah presenting Follies de Mwah, an array of Broadway, Las Vegas, and Moulin Rouge - inspired song and dance production numbers.

The repertoire boasts of a Gold Finger routine with the performers in metallic gold costumes; a Japanese geisha routine; Sarah Brightman sequence; a How Much is That Dog in the Window sequence, the Car Wash production number complete with an actual motorcycle driven on the electronic dance floor of the Club, and full Broadway inspired opening and closing plumed production numbers in fuschia and aqua blue combination.

In addition to Club Mwah's in house shows from Thursdays to saturdays, the theater plays host to Funkadelic, Hotlegs' 2005 yearend offering featuring dance and production routines: lovers swinging around on a harness, an Indian inspired repertoire, a dramatic lovers' sequence among many others. Club Mwah will also preview Bedazzled III on the first week of November.
