Mwah receives DOT accreditation Club
Mwah, the entertainment place dubbed as a cross between New York Studio 54 and
Las Vegas because of its shows that scream color, glamor and extravagance was
recently accredited by the Department of Tourism as a Tourism Entertainment Club
by virtue of Accreditation No. R001-2006. Pursuant to Executive Order No. 120,
given last Feb. 19 by DoT Usec. Atty. Oscar P. Palabyab. Aside
from its Bedazzled and Follies de Mwah numbers, Club Mwah will soon go Filipiniana
with Filipino folk dances given a Las Vegas twist. "This is in addition to
the Bedazzled and Follies de Mwah numbers. Its like
Bayanihan at Caesars Palace." Pocholo Malillin, Club Mwah's vice president
and administrative officer, adds.
Born
out of owners Chris Nicolas and Pocholo Malillins dream of bringing into
the country a venue that will showcase Filipino talent and artistry a dream
which required them years and a lot of patience and money to turn into reality
Club Mwah! (mwah, a French word meaning kiss) became an instant
hit among clubbers since it opening in late 2004. At
Club Mwah!, guests can drink, eat, talk and laugh while they are being entertained
by performers in elaborate costumes and rich makeup. This
year, the club features "Bedazzled 6!," a never-seen-before Broadway
and Las Vegas-inspired extravaganza choreographed and directed by Kris Nicolas.
"The pacing is faster this time and the change of the sets is seamless; you
wont have the slightest idea that you are watching another production number,"
says Pocholo.
For
guests who want to simply relax and keep to themselves, they may opt to stay at
The Quiet Room where they can watch movies, belt out songs with the karaoke, or
simply banter around while listening to music of their choice. Or, if they change
their mind, they can simply slide the glass panels and watch the performance from
the comfort and coziness of the Quiet Room. On
"no show" nights (and even days), Club Mwah! plays host to meetings,
gatherings, launches, shows, concerts and plays. For reservations, call Club Mwah!
at 535-7943 or 532-2282 or 631-6009 or visit Club Mwah at The Venue Tower, 652
Boni Ave. mandaluyong City, and get bedazzled by the newest and hottest spot in
the country's clubbing scene.
