Club
Mwah! opens its doors
It was
a night of glamour, world-class entertainment
and dazzling ligthts and sound as Club Mwah!,
the latest addition to the list of Metro Manila's
"in places" opened its doors recently
with society's most beautiful in attendance.
Leadint
he ribbon-cutting ceremony was Mandaluyong Congressman
Benhur Abalos with showbiz personalities Pops
Fernandez and Maricel Soriano and Club Mwah! president
Cris Nicolas and vice president Pocholo Malillin.
Club Mwah!
is located on the 3rd level of The Venue Tower
at 652 Boni Avenue in Mandaluyong City. One glance
up before a three-story sparkling new edifice
and guests saw the name Club Mwah! inside a giant
pair of lips that light up invitingly when dark
sets in.
Patterned
after the great Las Vegas show clubs, Club Mwah!
greets its guests with its handsome entry way
and ceiling lined with mirrors. To the beat of
gently throbbing, danceable music, guests enter
by the dance floor onto a flight of stairs leading
to a gallery that overlooks the stage and the
crowd below.
past the
handsomely-outfitted bar is a private lounge aptly
called the "Quiet Room." Guests who
wanted some privacy stayed in this enclave that
offers a view of what is happeningoutside yet
filters out the noise from the crowd and the music.
The highlight
of the evening was "Bedazzled," a wonderful
half hour performance delivered by Club Mwah's
stable performers from the hit film to life.
A hilarious
skit of ladies with the old ditty "How Much
is that Dog in the Window?" in the background
is also a hit. The segment involves ladies taking
their female dogs for a walk on leashes and the
huilabaloo that ensue when a male dog enters the
picture.
The show's
finale reminds one of Vegas with its all white
costumes of rhinestone-studded sequined gowns,
headresses and feathers. With a rousing play of
lights, music and bubbles, the show ends with
a deafening applause from the audience.
Seen having
grand time were top makeup artist and ClubMwah!
consultant James Cooper, Ces Drilon, Jojie Dingcong
and Girlie Rodis, businesswoman Butch Lopez, former
Tourism Secretary Gemma Cruz Araneta, socialite
Baby Prieto, Cosmopolitan Magazine's Myrza Sison
and Dona Pita with Preview's Pauline Suaco Juan,
top model Rissa Samson, Phoemela Baranda and a
host of others
