| Glitz, Glam and Disco In
tradition of the biggest, most fabulous shos in Las Vegas, Club Mwah is dowtown
Mandaluyong opens with enough razzmatazz to rival the shows of the famed Caesar's
Palace of the Strip, Studio 54 in New York, and Moulin Rouge in Paris. Known
for providing alternative entertainment to barinundtated Manila, Club Mwah is
best for two things: an hour of magic, dance and production revue sequence and
second, disco craze resurrected.
From
Tuesdays to Thursdays, a Vegas-inspired show of Broadway hits and original productions
injected with huge doses of comic relief. A musical kaleidoscope often punctuated
with witty vignettes, guests will be treated to a no-expenses curtailed, no holds-barred,
often naughty rendition of songs like "How Much is That Dog in the Window?"
or adaptations from Moulin Rouge or Broadway musicals like The Phantom of the
Opera. Aside from the lights
spectacles, the audience will be taken in awe by Vegas-style "showgirls"
clad in hot pink one-piece costumes, feather plumes decorating ornate headpieces,
dancing to the tune of a show tune from the seventies or eighties. Colorful,
glitzy, extravagant, Club Mwah is also famous for bringing disco music back. It
probably is the only high merit venue where you can "Get Into the Groove"
with Madonna and other seventies and eighties disco divas. Strobe lights, a psychedelic
dance floor, and disco balls - it's a veritable trip to new York's flashy Studio
54. And get this: Since all controls are linked to the computer, all of the lights
blink to the beat of the music. Exhibitionsim is given maximum tolerance and even
encouragement here, as there dance platforms, or ledges, strategically located
by the entrance, at the forefront of the stage, and on opposite walls.
Brainchild
of life partners Cris Nicolas and Pocholo Mallilin, Club Mwah is barely a year
in operation but the combination of grandiose artistry and technology have earned
Club Mwah its reputation as the home of las Vegas-class shows, reminiscent of
and even as opulent as those performed at Caesar's Palace. Here,
owner Pocholo Mallilin proudly entertains visiting ambassadors and consuls from
Dubai, South Africa, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. No wonder the
Asia Pacific Excellence for the Entertainment Circuit awarded it as one of the
best. It's a class act, indeed,
at Club Mwah. Club Mwah
is at the venue Tower, 652 Boni Avenue, mandaluyong Metro Manila. For inquiries,
