Mwah! Club Mwah is building
its landmark in the entertainment map of the world. Even incyberspace, people
are crashing in thousands, as they visit www.clubmwah.com, to see for themselves
why this Las Vegas counterpart in the Philippines has been talked about by expats
and other foreign tourists. Its
two fantastic revues, "Bedazzled 3" and "Follies de Mwah 3",
have been drawing a good number of foreign tourists since it opened to the public
last year. Word-of-mouth publicity played a great deal in making this place the
most luminous spot on 652 Boni Ave. in Mandaluyong City (tels. 535-7943 and 532-2826).
Club
Mwah's EVP, Pocholo Malilin, takes pride in the world-class ambience and shows
that their club offers. "People
from as far as Germany, Italy and Switzerland have been writing through our website,
saying they won't go to and leave the Philippines without getting a feel of Club
Mwah," said Pocholo.
Credit

the credit should go to his partner, Club Mwah president Cris Nicolas, a professional
dancer and performer, who choreogrpahs most of the movie and Broadway take-offs,
which leave the audience breathless. "They're better than the originals,"
a bedazzled guest said. Club
Mwah is the cutting edge in the total theater and entertainment industry in the
Philippines. It is a cross between Studio 54 of New York and the old Caesar's
Palace of Las Vegas in Reno, Nevada.
It
boasts a high-ceilinged main floor with a deep multilevel theater, which is the
envy of other performing arts-the aters in the metropolis. In front of the stage
is a granite-and-glass dance floor awash with lights and syncopating with the
latest techni, retro, ballroom music - from swing to samba, rhumba, reggae and
whatever is the delight of the audience and crowd for the highs. The black velvet
seats are the envy of first-class airline passengers; the red fireball seat are
perfect for that intimate bottle of wine or champagne on silver pedestals by illuminated
silver tables. Both
floors have a full-complement bar and areas for elegant dinner buffet service.
The upper balcony gives you the feeling of watching modern-day operas and musicales
from center parterre boxes. Behind the computerized sounds-and-lights control
booth are the more sedate, zebra-sinspired lounges for those quiet and memorable
gatherings and meetings, after which you can glide onto the fully carpeted floors
for a view of the spectacular show that unfolds behind optic curtains.
Sentimantal
beginning Club mwah has
nostalgic, nay sentimental, beginning. it is the fruition of the hard work, sweat
and tears of principal partner and artistic director Cris Nicolas who, teary eyed,
would relate how he danced through life from being part of an orphaned brood of
13 children, with a supportive mother, nonetheless, taking odd jobs at backyard
handicraft factories, to becoming an international dance and theater director
of the most prestigious club he can call truly his own. Ir
Cris is the consummate perfectionist with an eye even for that last rhinestone
on the plumed headpiece, his dynamic business partner, Pocholo Malilin, is the
ever gracious and efficient administrative and marketing genius who makes sure
that all seats, fragrances and banquets are served to the T!
These
two principals are ably supported by a world-class team of theater and dance performers
who have tens of years of performing-arts experience, as well as a handsome and
customer-oriented service staff who all look great and smell wonderful in their
smart and snazzy outfits, complete with bejeweled shoes. Club
Mwah can also be your venue for all kinds of parties, anniversaries, corporate
and product launches, awards night - name it. The celebrators who have lent memories
to Club Mwah from a long line of hall of famers from the entertainment, music,
performing arts, business and other industries.
